I am lucky to have a lot of really talented friends. It’s always great when I get to collaborate with them. I just finished working on a new zine with my good friend Josh LaFayette and he is no exception! Josh is a great designer, great musician and his drawings almost always make me laugh (in a good way). Our new zine, Silent Mountains, features 23 drawings; 1/3 by Josh, 1/3 collaborative, 1/3 by Me.
I promised this was coming—and now here it is! Typostruction Volume 2 features 25 drawings filled with goofy quotes, song lyrics and more. The first 5 copies have metallic gold covers, the second 5 have metallic silver covers, the rest are assorted.
Yesterday I spent the day at Repeat Press in Somerville, MA. Michael Dacey—the man behind it all—printed the limited edition Major Taylor piece I have been talking about for a while. Each of these 2-color prints is 6″ x 9″ and signed/numbered.
Recap: Marshall “Major” Taylor (26 November 1878–21 June 1932) was an American cyclist who won the world one-mile track cycling championship in 1899 after setting numerous world records and overcoming racial discrimination. Renowned as The Fastest Bicycle Rider In The World in the early 1900’s, accredits his success as a world champion to the value of good habits and clean living.
