I’ve been doing daily drawings for five years, this month. Crazy! It almost feels like I just started.
In semi-related news, I’m toying with the idea of doing a monthly, subscription-based zine for 2013. I tweeted about this earlier and there seemed to be a good amount of enthusiasm. What do you think? I used to make a lot more zines and I’d like to force myself to do more.

I just started a new podcast with Jonathan Mann called ‘Always Making.’ I’ve done over 1000 daily drawings and Jonathan has written and recorded even more daily songs. We decided to join forces to make this podcast discussing the trials and tribulations of daily making in the age of the internet. We’ll be posting a new episode each Wednesday. Check it out here: Always Making with Jonathan Mann & Chris Piascik

A couple weeks ago the Westboro Baptist Church called for a picket of the Foo Fighter’s show in Kansas City. The Foo Fighter’s decided to show up to their protest and it was pretty great. Check out this video. Seeing this made me remember just how horribly shitty the Westboro Baptist Church is. These people are the scum of the earth—it really doesn’t get much worse.

Today (well technically yesterday) the rapper Nate Dogg died at just 41. When I was a kid I couldn’t get enough of the West Coast, Death Row rap scene. Nate Dogg was a big part of that and helped shape the sound from early on. That style of hip hop was often referred to as G-Funk. The ‘G’ is for ‘Gangsta,’ duh.
