A while back I decided I wanted to make an alphabet book wherein each letter had a pattern of things that started with that letter. I did one for “A” a month ago and finally got around to doing “B” today. At this rate, it’s going to take a long time to finish… I might have to step up my alphabet game.
During my first session of the Hartford Art School Low-Residency MFA in Illustration program we had a children’s book class with the legendary Ted and Betsy Lewin. During the time I developed a book dummy and some sample spreads for The Salty Avocado, written by Aaron Cohen. Aaron and I have discussed making this book for a while and this class proved to be a great way to get started. These are the sample spreads from the book. Stay tuned for more as this progresses.
