Pandering: Beat LA

To be perfectly honest, I don’t follow sports very closely. When my friend Aaron told me I should draw “Beat LA,” I was hesitant. I explained my hesitation to him and the entire conversation made me laugh. That said, Boston was my home for a long time so I do hope the Celtics win. Not too mention, “Beat LA” was perfect for a fun little typographic drawing!
Aaron: Draw “Beat LA,” it has to be today before the game, though.
Me: I feel weird drawing things I don’t care about.
Aaron: …like you care about the oil spill or your cats or Mad Men.
Me: Haha, yes I do.
Aaron: Oh, well, uh..
Me: Can you sell me on it? Why should I care?
Aaron: It’d be pandering. You’d be doing it for the traffic.
Me: Oh.

Haha, sorry Pete! Did you read the little blurb up there? I’m not a big basketball fan at all—this was simply pandering and an excuse to draw!
Oh sorry! I totally missed that.
As soon as I saw the drawing, my eyes turned red and I quickly\angrily scrolled down to the bottom to comment. Hahaha!
