All My Bikes: 5, GT Interceptor

The newest addition to the All My Bikes series features a GT Interceptor. You may be wondering why the drawing focuses on the Redline Flight 3-Piece crank and doesn’t really show much else. The reason is that I traded my Robinson SST for the GT Interceptor even though the Robinson was a nicer frame. The GT came with the legendary Redline Flight Series crank—which was my first 3-piece. That was a big deal back then!
On a side note, does anyone remember how brutal pedals used to be?

been enjoying this series. pedals used to be brutal for sure. i have terrifying memories of the hutch bear trap pedals back when i was racing in the 80s. i once saw a bear trap spin around and lodge itself into a poor kid’s shin. wasn’t pretty. all the families at the track were freaked out. anyway, again, excellent series. i think my race bikes back then maxed out at a diamond back formula 1.

i totally had a few “cheese grater” pedals as a kid. my shins ache thinking about them. *shudders*
