Discovery Channel: The Colony

The Colony

The Discovery Channel commissioned this illustration to be a part of their social media campaign for the new season of The Colony.

The second season of the show, which features a group of volunteers with different backgrounds, skills and personalities, debuts next month. The conceit: these folks are participating in an immersive social experiment, exploring what life might be like after a global viral catastrophe. Throughout the season, these “survivors” face daunting physical, technological and emotional challenges as they attempt to make way in a world void of the creature comforts they’ve always known. Filmed in Louisiana, the series’ 6-acre environment has been designed with the help of experts in homeland security, engineering and psychology.

The hashtag #StillHere is being utilized throughout the campaign as a sign of hope. Join the Colony.

I have always wondered – How does one go about getting awesome jobs like that? Discovery seems like a big deal lol – Just curious if you would have some pointers for a promising designer ^_^

Hey Ryan, I was lucky enough to have this job come to me. My advice would be to just get your work out there in front of as many people as you can!
